Meet the Herd: 26 Introductions at The BAM Tonight
Look at that team photo. Black jerseys. Smoke. Goalies parked in front like security. Twenty six faces, all business.
So tonight is introductions. First home game of the year at The BAM, and nine of those faces are meeting a Mustangs home crowd for the first time.
Start at the top. The entire senior class fits in one line: Eric Dubsky, Dominic Silvestri, Carlos Flores. All three wear letters, Dubsky with the C, Silvestri and Flores with the A's. Small class, big jobs. The junior class is not much bigger: Emmett Wahl and Alex Thompson. Both of them.
Then the wave. Twelve sophomores, most of whom you met last year as freshmen, and nine actual freshmen, getting a home crowd in green for the first time.
They are not easing into it either. At CVCA last week, the two Mustang goals came from freshmen Ryan Ventura and Jayden Ensworth. Introductions, at full speed.
Officially, tonight is a scrimmage. Nobody in this photo got that memo.
